The Challenge
In 2024, Olymel embarked on a major initiative to replace its legacy AS/400 ERP with SAP RISE, with a go-live date set for June 1st. The supplier management process, though business-critical, was not part of the SAP RISE scope. Procurement teams risked being left without a structured tool to create, modify, deactivate, or reactivate partners from day one of the new platform. This functional gap needed to be closed quickly, with a solution that was simple for users, technically robust, and fully integrated into Olymel’s application ecosystem.
The Solution
Ventriloc designed and delivered UPM (Unified Partner Management), a Microsoft Power Platform application built specifically for Olymel’s procurement teams. The interface, designed as a single point of entry, greets users with two clear paths: starting a new supplier request or accessing requests already in progress. Each form guides the user step by step, validates the consistency of the data entered, and triggers the appropriate approval workflows.
Behind the scenes, a custom connector orchestrates integrations with SAP, OLYSST, and SAP Pinty’s to push updates to downstream systems, while a centralized administration module allows oversight teams to manage access, business rules, and shared reference data. The whole solution runs on Olymel’s Azure infrastructure and complies with the company’s governance standards.
The Impact
UPM went live at the same time as the SAP RISE deployment and, from the very first days, became the daily tool for procurement teams. Successive releases, from the initial version in July 2024 to version 1.3 in spring 2025, continuously enhanced functionality in response to feedback from the field. An internal launch video accelerated adoption, and onboarding a new user now takes just a few minutes.
UPM ensured continuity of the supplier process throughout the entire ERP transition and remains a flagship example at Olymel of what a well-targeted Power Platform application can accomplish to close a critical functional gap.
